Which car make and model is a Deuce and a Quarter?

1 votes

A knowledgeable gentleman told me that his favorite car was a Deuce and a Quarter.  I dared not ask what it was for fear of insulting him.  So, is it a car painted like a die with two spots?  Is it a car 1/4 the size of an ordinary car?  Is it something notable of its kind?  Or something else all together?

I would imagine that the old boy was referring to a Buick Electra 225, named for its overall length of 225 inches (slightly longer, take note, than the 1959 Cadillac). Hence the name "deuce and a quarter." The Electra was made from 1959 until 1990.

The car referred to is the Buick Electra 225- the 225 being the same size as the standard Electra, but originally the top of the line- after arounr 1963 or 64 all Electras were called 225- 2= deuce, 25= a quarter.
