The car for my learning teenager is a 10-year old base regular cab pickup Silverado. It was a former delivery truck, so it has a few nicks and blemishes. The truck works on several levels; cheap to insure, when the fellow students back into it in the high school parking lot, so what, should she be in an accident, she should be safe. The really good added bonus is I need a truck from time to time, for car part delivery or pickup, firewood gathering, etc. I can use it as needed since I own it and provide the insurance. The daughter provides the fuel. So far, so good.
